WHAT ARE NATUROPATHIC DOCTORS?

All About Who We Are

Naturopathic doctors undergo a rigorous, 4-year medical program at a nationally accredited naturopathic medical school (via AANMC). We are educated in the same basic sciences courses, such as gross anatomy/physiology and pathology, as conventional medical doctors (MD’s) for the 1st 2 years of training, and then engage in clinical rotations and courses in the final 2 years. The curriculum is replete with pharmacology as well as naturopathic treatments including botanical medicine, nutrition, homeopathy, hydrotherapy, minor surgery, and physical manipulation.

To receive our license to practice, we must pass 2 sets of national board exams set forth by the North American Board of Naturopathic Examiners (NABNE). I currently carry licenses to practice as a naturopathic doctor in California and Arizona.

WHAT IS HOMEOPATHY?

Healing With Nature

Homeopathy is a centuries-old therapy discovered by German physician Samuel Hahnemann and used regularly by millions of people worldwide. Through his scientific experiments he found that homeopathic medicines work based on the principle of 'Like Cures Like' which means that a dilute substance can cure symptoms caused by crude or toxic doses of the same substance. What this means is that homeopathic remedies use very small doses of natural substances (such as plants and minerals) to stimulate the body's ability to heal itself from illness.

Because of these low doses, homeopathy is a safe and gentle therapy, which makes it a great choice for patients of all ages, even animals! These results have been verified and repeated through thousands of research studies.

What sets homeopathy apart from conventional medicine is that each remedy is carefully selected based on your individual case, making it highly specific and tailored just for you. It can be successful in a wide scope of acute and chronic conditions from head to toe, including digestive disorders, insomnia, migraines, low back pain, allergies, eczema and psoriasis, depression and anxiety, menstrual and menopausal disorders, colds and flus, and auto-immune conditions to name a brief list!

CAN I SEE YOU AS A PATIENT IN MY STATE?

Let's Meet Virtually

Although I am a licensed naturopathic doctor in California and Arizona, I can only provide virtual wellness consultations that do not involve medical advice, diagnosis and treatment for clients residing outside of these states. You will need to maintain a primary care physician to help manage your care alongside our visits. These visits are not billable or reimbursable by health insurance, so will be out of pocket.

I provide wellness consultations for clients living in a majority of the United States. Unfortunately, at this time I cannot provide consultations for residents of Alabama, Connecticut, Florida, Iowa, Nevada, South Carolina or Tennessee due to special homeopathy licensing requirements.

If you reside internationally, please contact me to see if I can provide consultations for you.

WHAT CAN I EXPECT AT MY VISIT?

What You Really Want To Know

Since homeopathy is my specialty, I will be acting as your homeopathic consultant and the focus of the consultation will be as such. The first visit will be a comprehensive homeopathic intake which will take up to approximately 90 minutes, depending on the complexity of your case. This intake will focus on specific and unique characteristics of your symptoms to find an individualized homeopathic remedy for you, which I will recommend by the end of the visit. Follow-up visits are usually scheduled at 3-4 weeks after the initial visit to allow ample time for the treatment to start working in your body.
